How does it work?

Think of ShieldedStack, as a firewall for your package managers. It works by acting as a proxy for popular package managers like NuGet and npm, scanning packages and generating reports. If a package is found vulnerable, it is blocked before it reaches your local machine or environment.

How does the Free-tier work?

The Free tier is trust-based and designed for open-source maintainers and hobbyist projects. You'll get 1 API key with full access to our proxy scanning and vulnerability detection features.

What is VerifyThenTrust?

VerifyThenTrust is a proxy operating mode that provides enhanced protection for packages not yet in our database. When an unknown package version is requested, we query vulnerability databases inline in real-time before allowing it through. This blocks newly published malicious versions from reaching your developers, protecting against supply chain attacks where popular packages are compromised with malicious updates.

What is Package Scanner?

Package Scanner is a standalone console application that scans project directories for dependencies. Run it on-demand or via cron for continuous monitoring—ideal for legacy software, air-gapped environments, CI/CD pipelines, or environments that can't use the proxy.

Can I upgrade or downgrade at any time?
